Simon Mapa is a 6'3", 255-pound tight end from San Mateo, California, who transferred to New Mexico from the University of California. He lettered for two seasons at College of San Mateo, where he caught 19 passes for 209 yards and helped lead the program to a 2024 Junior College State Championship before joining Cal for Spring Practice. In his 2025 junior season with the Lobos, Mapa appeared in all 13 games with one start, recording three receptions for 42 yards and two touchdowns. His longest catch measured 22 yards against San Jose State, and he scored on an eight-yard reception against UCLA and a 12-yard reception against UNLV.
