Joshua Barnes is a cornerback from Los Angeles, California, who attended Dominguez High School. As a senior receiver and defensive back, he accumulated 800 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while leading his league in both categories. He recorded eight career interceptions and earned Special Teams Player of the Year honors twice. Barnes played four games during his 2024 freshman season at Idaho, posting three tackles with two solo, including two tackles in an FCS playoff game against Lehigh and one against Albany. He received a redshirt that season. In 2025, he appeared in one game with no recorded statistics. Barnes is a communications major born May 8, 2006.
