Jaxton Eck is a 6'1", 228-pound linebacker from Brookings, South Dakota, who transferred to New Mexico from Idaho. As a freshman in 2023, he appeared in 12 games and recorded 37 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss. In his 2024 sophomore season at Idaho, Eck started all 14 games, accumulating 134 tackles with 55 solo stops, earning FCS All-America and First Team All-Big Sky honors. In 2025, his junior year with the Lobos, he started all 13 games and led the team with 129 tackles while adding 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He was named First Team All-Mountain West and Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the conference.
