Frankie Edwards III is a right cornerback for New Mexico who transferred from Weber State. The 5'10", 178-pound junior from Moreno Valley, California recorded 25 tackles and 1.0 tackles for loss during his 2024 freshman season at Weber State, along with four pass breakups and an interception. He appeared in all 12 games that year, including a notable performance against Sacramento State where he returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown while recording seven tackles. In 2025, Edwards played in all 12 games with four starts, totaling 47 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss. He posted a career-high 12 tackles in a game against UNLV and started the final four games of the season at corner.
