Colin McBean is a free safety for the New Mexico Lobos from Long Beach, California. He attended Gardena Serra High School, where he earned Mission League MVP honors and First Team All-Mission League accolades as a senior with 82 tackles and 10 pass breakups. As a freshman in 2025, McBean started all 12 games he appeared in, becoming the only true freshman to start on defense. He recorded 40 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one interception, finishing seventh on the team in tackles. His performance included a career-high eight tackles against Boise State and a pick in the end zone against Utah State. McBean, a sophomore in 2026, majors in nursing.
