Tyler Lockhart, a 6'2" 225-pound linebacker from Kilmichael, Mississippi, played all 12 games during his 2025 true freshman season at Mississippi State, earning Freshman All-SEC Team honors from league coaches. In his debut at Southern Miss on August 30, he became the only true freshman on defense to appear in the opener, recording three tackles. Lockhart compiled 34 total tackles and two quarterback hurries across the season, with a career-high six tackles each against Tennessee on September 27 and at Texas A&M on October 4. He made his first career start versus Wake Forest on January 2.
