In his 2025 true freshman season, Taylor appeared in 11 games with two starts, completing 43 of 77 passes for 629 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. He rushed 82 times for 458 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the team in rushing TDs. Taylor was named SEC Freshman of the Week twice and scored a touchdown in seven consecutive games during the season.
