Roman Voss is a true freshman tight end for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The 6'4", 235-pound native of Lakefield, Minnesota, played quarterback and running back at Jackson County Central in Jackson, Minnesota, where he wore No. 4 under coach Tom Schuller. As a senior, Voss threw for 1,902 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 1,893 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning Gatorade Player of the Year and Minnesota High School Player of the Year honors as his team went 13-0 and won the Class AA state championship. He amassed over 10,000 yards of total offense in his prep career and holds multiple school records, including 4,686 career rushing yards and 65 career rushing touchdowns.
