John Nestor, a 6'1", 205-pound left cornerback from Chicago's Marist High School, enrolled at Minnesota in June 2025 after spending two seasons at Iowa. In his debut 2025 campaign, Nestor appeared in 11 games and recorded 50 tackles with six tackles for loss. He tied for the Big Ten lead with six interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, while breaking up six passes and recovering one fumble. His performance earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Bednarik Award Player of the Week honors in early December.
