Ashton Taylor is a weak-side linebacker from Hoover, Alabama who transferred to Middle Tennessee as a redshirt senior after four seasons at Jackson State. At Jackson State, Taylor appeared in 11 games during 2025, posting 49 tackles with 10.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles. In 2024, he played all 13 games and recorded 50 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, 3.5 sacks and six pass breakups while helping Jackson State reach a 12-2 record and SWAC Championship. Taylor began his college career at Tennessee Tech as a freshman in 2022 before moving to Jackson State, where he logged limited action as a redshirt freshman in 2023.
