Gavin Edwards is a 6'1", 193-pound free safety from Alvin, South Carolina who transferred to Maryland from Austin Peay. Edwards previously spent two years at North Greenville University, where he appeared in seven games during the 2024 season and recorded 29 total tackles, 21 solo tackles, and six passes defended. In his 2025 debut season as a Terp, Edwards appeared in all 12 games and finished with seven total tackles, including six solo stops. He recorded two tackles against Indiana and two solo tackles against Towson, capping his Maryland entry with three solo tackles versus FAU.
