Jayce Mitchell is an offensive lineman who transferred to Louisiana from Tulane, enrolling for the Spring 2026 semester. The 6'3", 322-pound lineman from Destrehan, Louisiana, was a three-star prospect rated by recruiting services. At Destrehan High School, Mitchell played both tackle and guard, helping the program achieve a 34-2 record during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons while going unbeaten in district play. He earned Louisiana Football Coaches Association first-team all-state honors and also competed in track and field as a discus thrower. Mitchell redshirted during the 2025 season at Tulane without seeing playing time.
