Rex Van Wyhe is a 6'5", 244-pound linebacker from Rock Rapids, Iowa, who transferred to Kansas State from Iowa Central CC. At the junior college level in 2022, he recorded 79 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks across 11 games, earning NJCAA Second Team All-America honors. After redshirting in 2023, Van Wyhe appeared in all games during the 2024 season, collecting 31 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss on 174 defensive snaps while contributing four special teams tackles. In 2025, he played in every contest as a rotation linebacker, recording 31 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery on 169 defensive snaps. A two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, Van Wyhe majors in construction science and management.
