Brayden Matthews is a true freshman linebacker for Jacksonville State who stands 6'1" and weighs 210 pounds. The Atlanta native attended McEachern High School in Georgia, where he earned First Team All-Region and All-State honors twice during his high school career. He was named team defensive player of the year and helped lead McEachern to a 7-0 region record and the 6A Region 3 championship.
