Hudson Kurland is a freshman quarterback at Iowa State who stands 6'4" and weighs 193 pounds. The Portland, Oregon native played for Lake Oswego High School under head coach Steve Coury, where he earned three-star recognition from recruiting services. As a senior, Kurland passed for 1,573 yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for six scores, leading Lake Oswego to an 11-1 record and a state championship game berth. In the Oregon State 6A Open Championship, he rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown and threw for 100 yards and a touchdown. Kurland compiled 2,115 all-purpose yards and 23 touchdowns that season, earning Honorable Mention All-State and First Team All-Three Rivers League honors. He also competed in lacrosse and basketball.
