Ty Cummings is a true freshman running back for Georgia Southern. The Dublin, GA native attended West Laurens High School, where he earned State 3A Player of the Year honors and first-team all-state selection as a senior. In his final season, Cummings rushed for 2,615 yards and 31 touchdowns across 14 games, adding 10 receptions for 167 yards and two scores. He set Georgia's single-game rushing record with 615 yards on 19 carries and eight touchdowns. Cummings left West Laurens with career marks including 6,003 rushing yards, 64 total touchdowns, and 771 rushing attempts. He was ranked the No. 51 running back nationally by recruiting services.
