Trey Townsend is a 6'1", 215-pound quarterback from Calhoun, Georgia, where he played under Coach Clay Stephenson. At Calhoun High School, he was named first-team all-region by Georgia High School Daily in both 2023 and 2024, earned GACA first-team all-state honors in 2023, and received honorable mention all-state recognition from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2024. During his final high school season, he threw for 2,225 yards and 26 touchdowns. Townsend was redshirted during the 2024-25 season and did not see game action in 2025-26. He is a returning roster member for Georgia Southern as a redshirt sophomore.
