Max Johnson is a quarterback for Georgia Southern. A four-star recruit from Oconee County High School in Georgia, Johnson began his college career at LSU in 2020, appearing in six games with two starts. He started all 12 games in 2021, completing 225 of 373 passes for 2,815 yards and 27 touchdowns. Johnson transferred to Texas A&M in 2022, appearing in four games with three starts before a season-ending injury. He returned in 2023 to start five of eight games, completing 118 of 190 passes for 1,452 yards and nine touchdowns. Johnson played in four games at North Carolina in 2025, starting once, with 62.1% completion percentage, 432 passing yards, and two touchdowns. He transferred to Georgia Southern in January 2026.
