Jacob Hammonds is a middle linebacker for Georgia Southern, standing 6'2" and weighing 195 pounds. A native of Griffin, Georgia, Hammonds arrived as a three-star recruit in 2022 and redshirted his freshman season in 2022-23 after appearing in five games on special teams. He did not play during 2023-24 but has since become a regular contributor. In 2024-25, he appeared in 10 games with three tackles across 136 snaps. During the 2025-26 season, Hammonds played in 11 games, recording three tackles and one quarterback hurry on 187 snaps, including 18 on defense. He maintains a major in Interdisciplinary Studies and has earned academic honors, including Dean's List recognition.
