Tre Bell III is a true freshman safety for Florida State from Opa-Locka, Florida, where he attended Barbara Goleman High School. At 5'11" and 199 pounds, Bell was a four-star recruit ranked No. 260 overall and No. 21 safety nationally by Rivals. During four seasons at Goleman, he accumulated 144 tackles, 19.0 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks on defense while also catching 35 passes for 612 yards and nine touchdowns. He recorded four interceptions and seven fumble recoveries and was named Miami Herald 7A-4A Defensive Player of the Year. As a senior, Bell returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown in a regional semifinal against Spanish River and led Goleman to the 7A regional finals. He chose Florida State over Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, and Florida.
