Bariate Kara is a 6'5", 290-pound defensive tackle from Loganville, Georgia, who enrolled at Duke in January 2025. At Loganville Christian Academy, he lettered two seasons and earned all-state honors as a senior with 56 tackles, 3.0 sacks, and three forced fumbles. As a junior, he recorded 55 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two caused fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Kara appeared in one game during his 2025 freshman season against Elon, taking three snaps. He received the Sonny Falcone Iron Duke Award for developmental progress in the weight room. Now returning as a redshirt freshman, Kara continues developing with the Blue Devils.
