Jarinn Kalama is a 6'3" free safety from Honolulu, HI who joined BYU as a three-star recruit in the 2022 class. Before arriving on campus, he recorded 62 receptions for 779 yards and nine touchdowns during 2021, with five 100-yard receiving games that season. He was selected to the 2022 Polynesian Bowl and ranked No. 3 in 5A with 12 receiving touchdowns in 2020. Kalama completed a two-year mission in Mexico and returned to the program as a redshirt sophomore. In 2025, he appeared in games with one solo tackle.
