Cannon DeVries is a nickel back for BYU who completed a two-year mission in Houston, Texas before joining the program. A three-star recruit from North Ogden, Utah, DeVries was a two-time first-team all-state selection and earned 2021 Deseret News Two-Way Player of the Year honors at Weber High School, where he helped lead the program to Region 1 championships in 2020 and 2021. In his 2025 freshman season, DeVries appeared in all 14 games, recording four total tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss while handling punt return duties. He was named to the Fall Academic All-Big 12 Team.
