Jamar Birden is a defensive end for Ball State standing 6'2" and weighing 225 pounds. The redshirt freshman from Waycross, Georgia, attended Ware County HS, where he recorded 54 total tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks during his senior year in 2024, earning first-team all-region honors. He was part of the Gators' undefeated state championship team in 2022 and received a three-star rating from recruiting services before committing to the Cardinals. Birden appeared in games against New Hampshire and Toledo during his 2025 freshman season while earning a redshirt. He is expected to see active rotation on the defensive line moving forward.
