Nate Johnson is a 6'5", 263-pound defensive end from Gaffney, South Carolina, who transfers to Auburn as a senior. He spent one season at Missouri in 2025, appearing in 10 games with four tackles. Prior to that, Johnson played two years at Appalachian State (2023-24), appearing in 35 games with 16 starts. As a sophomore, he recorded 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks across 11 games with six starts. His freshman year in 2023 earned All-American honors; he appeared in all 14 games with 10 starts, totaling 43 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 8.5 tackles for loss, ranking No. 2 nationally among freshmen in sacks. At Gaffney High School, he posted 59 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks as a senior, earning Class 5-A Upper State Defensive Player of the Year.
