Lane Whisenhunt is a linebacker from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, who joined Alabama as a tight end before transitioning to linebacker during fall 2025. He appeared in two games that season and earned special teams scout player of the week recognition ahead of contests against Florida State and Missouri. Whisenhunt also received defensive scout player of the week honors from coaching staff in preparation for matchups with South Carolina and Oklahoma. Prior to his position change, he saw special teams action during his first year with the Tide against ULM and recorded two tackles in a game against Eastern Illinois.
