Background & career
Cole Burgess is a 6'1", 200-pound slot receiver with two years of NFL experience. He played four seasons at SUNY Cortland, appearing in 43 career games and recording 178 receptions for 3,133 yards and 35 touchdowns. In 2023, he led the Empire 8 Conference with 87 receptions, 1,375 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns while helping Cortland win the Division III national title; he caught a 21-yard touchdown pass in that championship game with 1:41 remaining in the fourth quarter. Burgess was named first-team all-conference in all four seasons and added 66 kickoff returns for 1,647 yards and three touchdowns during his college career. After spending 2024 on the Cincinnati Practice Squad without making his NFL debut, he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers.
