From St. Louis, Missouri, Cooper played five years at Tarleton State (2020–24), finishing as the program's leader in receiving yards with 3,185 and earning Associated Press first-team All-America honors as a senior after recording 1,450 yards and 14 touchdowns on 76 catches. He majored in kinesiology. The Eagles signed him as an undrafted free agent. In his first professional season in 2025, Cooper recorded 10 receptions for 101 yards.
