Pete Werner, a 6'3" linebacker from Indianapolis, was selected 60th overall in 2021 by New Orleans and has been a fixture on the Saints defense since his debut. Over five completed seasons, he recorded 404 tackles (255 solo), 2.5 sacks, 18 stops for loss, and ten pass breakups across 73 games. In 2025, his fifth year, Werner appeared in all 17 games with 15 starts, posting 81 tackles (49 solo), two sacks, and five pass breakups while recovering three fumbles, a career high. Entering his sixth season, he operates under defensive coordinator Brandon Staley in 2026.
