Dak Prescott, a 6'2", 238-pound quarterback from Haughton, Louisiana, was drafted 135th overall in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by Dallas out of Mississippi State. He became the first Cowboys quarterback drafted since 2009 and only the fifth under Jerry Jones' ownership. Prescott assumed the starting role midway through his rookie season and led Dallas to a 13-3 record and NFC East title, setting club records with 3,667 passing yards and 23 touchdowns while earning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. He has remained the Cowboys' incumbent starter through his tenth professional season. In 2025, Prescott completed 404 of 600 passes for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns, and added 177 rushing yards on 53 carries.
