Thomas Heiberger is a 6-4, 230-pound linebacker from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he attended Jefferson High School. At Jefferson, he earned all-state and all-conference honors in 2022 and 2023. As a senior in 2023, he recorded 39 tackles including 5.0 sacks while also scoring five touchdowns on offense. In his junior year, he made 44 tackles with 10.0 tackles for loss as his team went 12-0 and won a state title. Heiberger played in four games on special teams during the 2024 season after missing early time due to a lower body injury. During the 2025 season, he appeared in 11 games with three starts, recording seven tackles across 95 defensive snaps, including two solo stops against Minnesota on November 29. He was named Academic All-Big Ten in 2025.
