Cairo Skanes is a 6'2", 195-pound free safety from Asheville, North Carolina, who attended Providence Day High School. A three-star recruit, he recorded 83 tackles and 6 interceptions during his senior season in 2024. Skanes appeared in all 12 games as a true freshman at Wisconsin in 2025, accumulating five tackles across 80 defensive snaps. He recorded a season-high three tackles against Iowa on October 11. Skanes is a returning sophomore for the Badgers.
