Zach Smith is a 6'0", 220-pound linebacker from Red Oak, Texas, who transferred to Western Kentucky after one season at SMU. At Red Oak High School, Smith recorded 76 tackles and 13 tackles for loss as a senior, along with one sack, three interceptions, and five forced fumbles. In 2025, his first year at WKU, Smith appeared in 12 games primarily on special teams and recorded six total tackles, including a season-high three in the September 6 game at Toledo. He also logged one quarterback hurry during the campaign.
