Matt Sieg is a true freshman free safety at West Virginia from McDonald, Pennsylvania, where he attended Fort Cherry High School. A four-star recruit ranked 179th overall in the 2026 class, Sieg played both quarterback and free safety for Fort Cherry. As a senior, he registered 2,259 all-purpose yards with 30 touchdowns and recorded 45 tackles and four interceptions on defense, including two returned for touchdowns. During his high school career, he finished as the WPIAL No. 2 career rushing leader with 7,941 yards and set a WPIAL record with 12,592 total offensive yards and 139 touchdowns.
