Jayden Ballard is a true freshman safety from Chesterfield, Virginia, who attended Manchester High School. At Manchester, he played safety and wide receiver under coach Jason Harrell while also competing in track. As a senior, Ballard recorded 48 tackles, two sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and one interception, earning Class 6 Second Team All-State honors and Manchester's Defensive MVP award. On offense, he caught 12 receptions for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Ballard's defense allowed 13.0 points per game. He signed with West Virginia as a three-star recruit.
