John Mills, a 6'6" 338-pound left guard from San Francisco, enrolled at Washington in January 2025. Mills played in and started 11 games during his first season, earning honorable mention All-Big Ten honors from the media and a spot on the True Freshman All-America team. He started at left guard in most contests before missing games against Rutgers and Michigan due to injury, then returned to the lineup against No. 23 Illinois. Mills also saw time at right tackle against Purdue and UCLA, and started at left guard in the L.A. Bowl matchups. He won UW's Newcomer of the Year Award and currently returns for his sophomore season.
