Jesse Ewell is a linebacker for Washington, wearing number 57. The true freshman hails from San Clemente, California, where he attended San Clemente High School under coach Jaime Ortiz. Ewell appeared on the varsity roster as a sophomore, junior, and senior. During his sophomore year, the Tritons went 9-2, captured the South Coast League title, and qualified for the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs. As a junior, San Clemente finished 6-6 and reached the Division 2 quarterfinals. In his senior season, Ewell served as a team captain on a 9-5 squad that advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 championship game, though an off-season injury limited him to nine of 14 contests.
