Background & career
Ezaya Tokio is a 6'4", 230-pound true freshman linebacker from Oceanside, California, who played for Oceanside High School and previously attended St. Augustine High in San Diego. At St. Augustine, he recorded 98 tackles as a sophomore in 2023, when the Saints finished 10-5 and won the San Diego Section Division I playoffs. He transferred to Oceanside High, where he appeared in four games in 2024 with 28 tackles, 10.5 for loss, and 7.5 sacks as the Pirates went 7-4 and won the Valley League. In his senior year, Tokio posted 76 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and eight sacks while leading Oceanside to a 7-5 record and the CIF San Diego Section Division I quarterfinals. He was rated a three-star recruit and ranked among the top linebacker prospects nationally.
