Jeron Jones is a true freshman cornerback for Washington from Mission Viejo, California. Jones played varsity football for four years at Mission Viejo High School under coach Chad Johnson, also competing as a receiver. As a senior, he recorded 49 tackles, 10 pass break-ups, and four interceptions while the Diablos posted a 9-2 record and reached the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. He earned first-team All-CIF SS Division 1 honors and CalHiSports preseason all-state second-team selection. Jones was rated the No. 33 prospect in California and the No. 32 cornerback in the nation by national outlets, and also competed in track and field, winning the league 200-meter title as a freshman.
