Matyus McLain is a 6'4", 253-pound right defensive end from Priest River, Idaho, who transferred to Washington State in January 2026. At Idaho, the redshirt sophomore appeared in 12 games during the 2025 season, posting 42 tackles, 13.5 tackles-for-loss and 4.5 sacks while forcing a fumble. He earned Honorable Mention All-Big Sky Conference honors. McLain recorded seven tackles and 1.5 sacks against St. Thomas on September 6, and six tackles with 3.5 TFLs against Eastern Washington. As a redshirt freshman in 2024, he played 11 games and totaled seven tackles.
