Kayo Patu is a safety for Washington State who stands 5'11" and weighs 182 pounds. A three-star recruit from the 2024 class, Patu attended Roosevelt High School in Seattle after his first three years at Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, California. As a senior, he recorded four interceptions and 38 receptions for 813 yards with 14 touchdowns, earning Metro Sound League Player of the Year honors. In his redshirt freshman year (2025), Patu appeared in the final seven games, primarily on special teams, accumulating 69 snaps. He recorded his first collegiate stat—a pass breakup on a fake punt attempt by Louisiana Tech—and played defensive snaps in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl victory against Utah State.
