D.J. Johnson is a defensive end from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, who attended Minnechaug Regional High School as a two-way starter at tight end and defensive end. He earned All-Division First Team and All-State honors after recording 68 tackles, seven sacks, and 19.5 tackles for loss on defense, along with 15 receptions for 360 yards and seven touchdowns on offense. Johnson played at New Hampshire before transferring to Wake Forest for the 2026 season. In his redshirt freshman year at New Hampshire, he appeared in all 13 games, collecting 42 tackles including 27 solo tackles and 15 assisted tackles, along with 2.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss.
