Jayden Covil is a cornerback for the Virginia Cavaliers. The Chesapeake, Virginia native attended Oscar Smith High School under coach Chris Scott, where he was an honor roll student all four years and helped lead the 2024 Class 6 State Championship team to a perfect 15-0 record. Covil received three-star recruit ratings from recruiting services, and ranked as the No. 29 overall recruit in Virginia according to recruiting services. Son of Sherrod and Brandi Covil, he has three siblings including brother Sherrod Jr., who played football at Clemson before transferring to Virginia Tech in 2024. Covil wears No. 29 and is a true freshman standing 5'11" and weighing 161 pounds.
