Johnny Garrett is a left tackle for Virginia Tech, standing 6'5" and weighing 323 pounds. A native of Scituate, Massachusetts, he attended Boston College High School in Dorchester, where he played tight end and defensive end under head coach Ed Mantie and also competed in basketball. Garrett redshirted in 2022, then appeared in all 13 games primarily on special teams in 2023. He made one start in 2024 against Minnesota in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. In 2025, Garrett started 10 of 10 games played, recording 619 offensive snaps while allowing two sacks. He helped an offensive line unit that averaged 182.4 rushing yards per game, fourth in the ACC. Currently a redshirt senior, Garrett majors in history.
