Emmett Laws is a 6'0", 302-pound redshirt sophomore defensive lineman for Virginia Tech. A native of Elkton, Maryland, Laws attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, where he was named the 2023 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Capital Division Defensive Player of the Year and earned three consecutive All-Capital Conference selections. In 2024, his first year with the Hokies, Laws appeared in two games with two tackles. During the 2025 season, he played in 12 games, recording 12 total tackles (4 solo), 1.0 tackles for loss, and 1 sack against South Carolina on August 31 that resulted in a safety.
