Deric Dandy is a 6'2", 255-pound right defensive end from Mount Airy, North Carolina, where he was a two-time team captain. As a senior, he recorded 110 tackles including 48 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks, leading Mount Airy to the Class 1A state championship. In 2022, he posted 95 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks across 15 games while earning All-Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. Dandy redshirted in 2024 and appeared in all 12 games during the 2025 season primarily on special teams, recording one tackle. He is a returning redshirt sophomore for Virginia Tech.
