Cole Byrd is a 6'1", 202-pound punter and placekicker from Bassett, Virginia. At Bassett High School under Head Coach Brandon Johnson, Byrd earned All-State honors three times. During his junior year, he made 16 field goals with a long of 51 yards, converted all 29 extra points, and recorded 40 touchbacks on 52 attempts. In his senior season, Byrd posted 32 touchbacks, made six field goals ranging from 29 to 40 yards, went 31 of 32 on extra points, and successfully executed four onside kicks.
