Garrett Hawkins is a redshirt junior linebacker for the UTEP Miners standing 6'3" and weighing 227 pounds. A native of Sevierville, Tennessee, Hawkins played at Austin Peay for two seasons (2023-2024), appearing in 24 games with three starts. In 2024, he logged 35 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup across all 12 games. During the 2023 season, he recorded 15 tackles with a tackle for loss, fumble recovery, and breakup in 12 appearances, including a five-yard fumble return touchdown against ETSU. In 2025, Hawkins appeared in three games before suffering an injury that ended his season, totaling 10 tackles, 0.5 tackle for loss, and one quarterback hurry on defense.
