Derek Burns is a 6'5", 254-pound defensive lineman from Dallas, TX who plays for UTEP. Burns began his college career at Kilgore College, where he appeared in 12 contests during his 2022 freshman season and recorded 9.5 sacks with 35 tackles. He followed with 44 tackles and 4.0 sacks across 11 games in 2023. Burns transferred to New Mexico State and saw action in one contest during the 2024 season, tallying a tackle against WKU.
