Ashton Coker is a 6'2", 290-pound nose tackle for UTEP who hails from Katy, Texas. A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Coker played all four years at Katy Taylor High School, where he totaled 162 tackles and 20.0 tackles for loss across 36 games. He was named 2023 19-6A Defensive Player of the Year. In his freshman season in 2024, Coker appeared in 10 games with four starts, recording eight tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. As a sophomore in 2025, he played in 11 games with nine starts, posting 25 tackles with 4.0 tackles for loss. The junior currently returns as a starter on the defensive line.
